What are the investment strategy options?

Non-endowed funds offer five investment strategies from Money Market to All Equity — choose based on your grantmaking timeline.

For non-endowed funds, you may choose from five strategies:

  • Money Market — Preserves capital, maximizes liquidity. Best if you plan to grant soon.
  • Conservative — Lower risk; mix of short-term fixed income and modest equity. Best for near-term grantmaking with modest growth.
  • Balanced — Moderate risk; balances preservation and growth. A common middle-ground choice.
  • Growth — Moderately aggressive; greater equity weighting for longer time horizons.
  • All Equity — Aggressive; 100% equities for long-term growth. Best if you don't plan to grant for several years.

Endowed funds are invested in CFSEM's endowment pool. You may update your investment strategy preference at any time by contacting Donor Services.
